Health Care Trends In The 18th Century Era
In The 18th Century is when people started to discover and achieve many things that haven't been done yet. In 1796 the vaccination for small pox was created by Edward Jenner and in 1799 Humphry Davy discovers a way to use nitrous oxide as a anesthetic. John Brown discovered that there were only two diseases, Sthenic ( strong) and Asthenic ( weak), and two treatments: stimulant and sedative, his remedies were alcohol and opium. Another thing that was discovered during this time was Homeopathy, a system of treatment involving the administration of minute doses of drugs, whose effects resemble the effects of the disease being treated. His ideas had a weird effect upon medical thought at a time, when prescriptions were lengthy and doses were large.

Health Care Workers And People Who Contributed to the Developments Or Discoveries
I will be telling you the people who created medical treatments mostly used in the 18th century. The people that I am mentioning played a big part starting with tobacco which was recognized as a medicine soon after it was first imported from the New World, and was used by western medical practitioners as something that we call a Tobacco Enema. Another important person would be William Smellie who was the first obstetrician to scientifically study the process of child birth.François Xavier Bichat(1771-1802) of Paris used the microscope to begin the study of cellular changes in disease. Reverend Stephen Hales (1677-1761) was the first person to measure blood pressure; he did this on a horse. These are some people who did great things back in the 18th century, but there's still many more.

Beliefs and Theories Of The 18th Century
In the 18th century, the theory was that there was no need for sterilization of medical tools they used to treat patients, because of the fact they had no knowledge of bacteria, germs, or viruses. This led them to believe that they weren’t the cause of the spread of disease. In the 1700's, Nicolas Andry had a theory that microorganisms, he called “worms,” were responsible for smallpox and other diseases. In 1720 Richard Bradley had a theory that the plague and all pestilential distempers were caused by poisonous insects and living creatures, viewable only with they help of microscopes.
